The Melting of the Prisons of Ice

While in our world much talk is made of the melting of the polar ice caps, this event has rippled out into the other world causing the melting of the great ice prisons of Norderakk and Kalnerakk wherein have long been imprisoned the great ones of old, Thakragg and Krakor.

"... great wheels were set in motion for the melting of the bonds of ice in which they were contained, and they've been melting from those days long ago even to the present. It seems that it was towards the close of that old age that the Theleia Stone went astray, but few know for certain when it disappeared. Nevertheless, for all the uncertainties, it is almost certain that both of those dreadful foes of the world are almost free, and it is you who must find the lost Theleia Stone and set matters right."

The melting of the polar ice caps in our world was orchestrated from the depths of the ice prisons of Ganwelor, as the inhabitants of the world standing parallel to our own call their world. At the instance of Thakragg and Krakor, even while they dwelt in their frozen bonds of deepest ice, they influenced the minds of men in our world whose minds are so much easier to corrupt than the minds of men in Ganwelor, so that their ice prisons may one day loosen their formidable, icy grip, thus allowing them to go free once more into the world.

Their freedom will bring the onset of a new Shadow Age more terrible than the last.
